Stuart Redd - "Dreams To Reality"
Growing up in Mississippi, Stuart got his first taste of Rhythm & Blues
when his dad brought home a juke box for his seventh birthday. He
remembers hearing James Brown, ‘Little’ Stevie Wonder, Booker T
and more.
At eleven, he picked up the guitar and first learned to play by playing
Rock n’ Roll. At 19, he joined a band that toured the Northeast.
Appearances included The Pontiac Silver Dome and the Top of the
Marriott in New Orleans. At the Detroit Jazz Festival, the band opened
for Buddy Rich and the Mercer Ellington Band and received major label
interest from Philadelphia producers Gamble and Huff.
In Detroit, he heard jazz artists for the first time on WJZZ, a 24-hour
Jazz station. He says it was like the lights came on and the sky opened
up. That music became the soundtrack to his daily life for years. He
even saw the amazing Northern Lights for the first time. All of this
created a myriad of audio and visual stimulus for him as he let his musical
imagination run wild sparking more creativity than he could contain.
For a young guy from humble beginnings in south Mississippi, this was
quite a change. Those were exciting and formative years. There are great
artists continuing this tradition of great music and Stuart feels honored
to have played with some of these world-renowned musicians on his CD
“Dreams to Reality.”
Stuart has performed twice at the Seabreeze Jazz Festival once opening for
Boney James and has received world-wide promotion from Smooth Jazz
Global and Gorov Music Marketing. A Billboard-charting artist, Stuart’s
music has been played on radio stations all over the United States and
world-wide. “Dreams to Reality” has sold in many countries including
Japan, Germany, Spain, Canada, Australia and the United States.
